ABOUT OUR DENTURES

ADJUSTING TO A NEW DENTURE
It is not uncommon that you may have to have your denture adjusted more than once from time to time. We have changes in our mouth that may even cause us to have them relined when we do not expect it. Sometimes due to medication, or weight loss even our diet can cause changes in our mouth. Dentures do not stretch or shrink therefore may need to be relined.

You may salivate more frequently when you first get a new denture, therefore expect a breaking in period. It may take a few days for you to adjust to them. It is important that you practice talking with them often. Eating will also be a new challenge that will require an adjustment period.

*DENTURE CARE

You must care for your denture properly or it to can start to deteriorate as your natural teeth do. You can soak them in ˝ white vinegar, ˝ water to remove stains and odor. A good scrubbing with baking soda is also very helpful to remove stains. If you feel the need you may want to use store brand denture cleaners. Either way when beginning to wear dentures it takes much practice and patience.

Cast Metal Partials

As with dentures there is an adjustment period. A cast partial is made of metal and acrylic. It is used to fill in the gaps where you are missing teeth, and aids in chewing. In many cases if you loose additional teeth you can have them added to this type of partial. We offer a 3-year warranty on the acrylic and 5 year warranty on the metal part of this partial.
