In an effort to promote healthy teeth, both Northside Dental Clinic and James River Dental are sponsoring a “Cash for Candy” buy-back this Halloween.

On Tuesday, Nov. 1, children and families may bring in their unopened Halloween candy to either Northside Dental Clinic or James River Dental to receive $1, per pound of candy, from the clinics. In addition, parents participating in the program will receive a $20 gift certificate that may be used for any dental procedure at either clinic location. The collected candy will then be shipped to our overseas troops along with tooth brushes, tooth paste and letters of appreciation for their service to our country.

"Our main goal with ‘Cash for Candy’ is to promote healthy eating habits and good dental hygiene to our kids,” Dr. Kaelin said. "It's also a chance for us to show our appreciation for our troops overseas and to give back to them for their services.”

Drop off your Halloween candy between the hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm to collect your cash. Northside Dental Clinic is located in Springfield at 2105 W. Kearney, Ste. A, and James River Dental Center is also located in Springfield at 4205 Nature Center Way.

Northside Dental Clinic has provided the Springfield area with general family dentistry services for more than 35 years. In 1996, the practice opened a second location at James River Dental. Owned and operated by Derek Kaelin, D.D.S., the two facilities form Springfield's largest individually owned dental practice.
