Derek Kaelin | D.D.S.

Kaelin, a graduate of the University of Minnesota, has been practicing dentistry since 2003. He is a proud member of the ADA, AAID, MDA and the GSDS. Outside of dentistry, Kaelin spends his time with his three sons, Donovan, Drew and Daniel. Kaelin is also an avid runner, bicyclist, and swimmer.

With his experience and dedication, it is no surprise that 417 Magazine has voted Dr. Kaelin “Top Dentist” for many consecutive years.

Hillary L. Smith | D.M.D.

Dr. Hillary Smith joined our team at Northside Dental Clinic in 2018. She is from Fort Smith, Arkansas. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Central of Arkansas. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from A.T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health. As a senior dental student, Dr. Smith was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and was recognized for her academic excellence and outstanding leadership by the American Association of Women Dentists with the Eleanor J. Bushee Award. Dr. Smith currently serves on the board of the Greater Springfield Dental Society. She is committed to providing her patients with the best possible care and making them feel comfortable in what she hopes to be their dental home at Northside Dental Clinic.

Shana | E.F.D.A.

Shana has been working with Dr. Kaelin since graduating from OTC in 2005 as a certified dental assistant with expanded functions certification. She took an interest in dentistry after having braces at age 16. Before that, she says she had very crooked teeth and never smiled without covering her mouth.

She was amazed at the change in her smile and loves to help our patients overcome their own insecurities about their smiles. Shana is a hard-worker who is full of knowledge in all procedures and always willing to help out. When she’s not buzzing around the office, Shana enjoys reading, spending time with family and taking pictures.
